More details and a letter from the youth minister

Catholic Youth Summer Camp is a week-long residential camp for middle school and high school youth located in Central Ohio. CYSC engages young people into the sacramental life, mission and work of the Catholic Church. CYSC was founded in 2001 and this year will welcome more than 3,700 campers from all over the country!

The activities of Catholic Youth Summer Camp far exceed those of other summer camps, consisting of paintball, high ropes, archery tag, “the blob”, rock wall climbing, ziplines, ultimate capture the flag, canoeing, swimming, and much more. A day at CYSC is packed full of adventure, allowing campers to step outside of their comfort zones, overcome fears and challenges with the help of their peers and counselors, and to experience the joy that comes with life in Christ. Your child will grow in confidence and boldness. This is truly a welcome and joy-filled camp experience!

However, what truly separates Catholic Youth Summer Camp from other camps, and the reason I share with you this letter, is the extent to which, through the course of one week, the rich tradition of the Catholic Church is explored through activities, programming, morning prayer, sacred art, service projects, daily mass, daily mysteries of the rosary, adoration, and the sacrament of Reconciliation. CYSC’s intentional focus on the faith formation of their campers allows the campers to experience the vibrancy of our Catholic faith in a truly life-changing way.

At the end of the week, campers are encouraged to LIVE THE ADVENTURE, and they are given the tools to take what they have learned at camp back into their schools, parishes, youth groups, and families.

The fruit that I have seen come from Catholic Youth Summer Camp, in the spiritual and social development of their campers, I believe, makes it more than worthy of consideration in your summer plans. I have seen that campers come back into their parish and school intent to take on leadership and to build catholic identity. Imagine the strength that could come from your son or daughter and his or her group of closest friends experiencing the adventure together.

The Diocese of Cleveland has reserved 170 spots the week of July 21-26 for students entering 9th-12th grade in the fall.

Camp costs $495 for a week of food, lodging, and high adventure.

For more information about camp, or to register, please go to www.cysc.com. Use promo code CLEVELAND2019. There is an option online to pay for camp in monthly installments if that is helpful for you.

In Christ,
